UK: Londoners Protest at Downing Street Over Gaza Aid Flotilla

On Thursday, 2 October 2025, thousands of people gathered at Downing Street in London to protest against Israel’s interference with the Global Sumud Flotilla and the UK government’s perceived inaction. The flotilla, carrying food, baby formula, and other essential supplies to Gaza, had been intercepted by Israeli naval forces. The demonstration faced additional challenges when Westminster Tube station was closed around 5:30 p.m. due to a reported “fire alert.” As a result, many protesters made their way from Green Park and Piccadilly stations on foot, chanting slogans and carrying banners as they marched toward Downing Street.

During the event, a manifesto was read, accusing Israel of committing genocide and citing United Nations figures that warn of a much higher death toll than officially recognized. Spain: La Vuelta 2025 Stage Canceled in Madrid After Pro-Palestinian Protests

The final stage of La Vuelta 2025 in Madrid was abruptly canceled after pro-Palestinian protesters blocked sections of the route, preventing cyclists from completing the traditional victory lap through the city. Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard (Visma Lease a Bike) was declared the winner, but instead of finishing at the Cibeles podium, the race ended at the Jardines del Palacio Real, around 56 kilometers from the planned finish. Protesters occupied major streets, including Paseo del Prado, clashing with riot police. Police unions criticized the government, claiming authorities had encouraged the unrest and undermined law enforcement. Demonstrators voiced anti-Israel slogans and displayed banners targeting Israeli and Madrid officials.
