China: Exhausted Snow Leopard Found in Desert Rescued by Wildlife Team in Xinjiang

A weakened snow leopard was rescued after being found wandering in the Kumtag Desert in Turpan, Xinjiang, on March 21, 2026 — far from its usual mountainous habitat. Rescuers carefully guided the calm but exhausted animal into a transport cage before transferring it to a wildlife rescue center. Authorities confirmed it would be released back into the Tianshan Mountains if no injuries were found.

On March 9, 2026, in Guangdong, southern China, a video captured a puppy falling into a bucket of dog food. Rather than panicking, it stayed inside and kept eating as if nothing was wrong. The owner eventually lifted the puppy out, and the moment it was set down, several other dogs rushed over and began licking food crumbs off its body and fur, even around its ears, while the puppy lay still and let them carry on.

On September 11, 2025, in Qinghai, China, a snow leopard was caught on video playing with a dangling soccer ball. The leopard stood on its hind legs, twirled in circles while holding the ball, and then landed back on all fours, still playfully pawing at it.
