STORY: New rail flaw detection vehicle used in north China's Shanxi DATELINE: Nov. 6, 2022 LENGTH: 00:01:24 LOCATION: TAIYUAN, China CATEGORY: TECHNOLOGY SHOTLIST: 1. various of rail flaw detection vehicle STORYLINE: A new kind of rail flaw detection vehicle has been used in Shanxi, a major coal-producing province in north China to improve working efficiency as the heating season approaches. The vehicle powered by lithium battery has been equipped with a panoramic sunroof and an ultrasonic detection system. With nine probes, it can detect the rail thoroughly and show the problem on the computer. Made of titanium alloy, the body of the vehicle weighs 800 kg, which is convenient for inspectors to assemble before use. With the help of the new vehicle, railway inspectors can detect 20-km railways in three hours, which is three times quicker than traditional hand push detectors.
