The Czech Chamber of Deputies approved an increase in the 2021 state budget deficit from 320 to 500 billion crowns in Prague, Czech Republic, February 18, 2021, responding to the impact of the tax package, such as the abolition of the supergross salary. The government has also drafted the new compensation bonus for businesspeople and it also needs more money to combat COVID-19. The motion received the votes of 93 lawmakers for Prime Minister Andrej Babis's ANO, the junior government Social Democrats (CSSD) and the Communists (KSCM).
