The Buckley Draw Fire broke out on the mountainside south of Slate Canyon in Provo, Utah, around 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2025. The fire quickly grew, reaching an estimated 427 acres by Tuesday, August 20, mainly spreading along the east flank at the top of Buckley Mountain.
