Memoir of teenage Nagasaki survivor tells horror of A-bomb

NAGASAKI, Japan - Photo taken June 5, 2013 in Tokyo shows Masako Yanagawa's notes that were eventually published as "Masako taorezu" (Masako does not collapse). With some changes in expressions, her personal record as a 14-year-old girl after being exposed to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on Aug. 9, 1945, was published as "Masako taorezu" in 1949.

NAGASAKI, Japan - Masako Yanagawa is seen in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward on June 5, 2013, recalling the diary she wrote after being exposed to the atomic bombing of Nagasaki on Aug. 9, 1945 at the age of 14. The diary was published as "Masako taorezu" (Masako does not collapse) in 1949.
