Sabbar has suffered from poverty and insufficient education after his father was killed and his three uncles kidnapped by the Islamic State (IS) militants days after his birth. Not long after the death of his father, Sabbar's mother left home, which made his life even harder. He is now in the third grade of primary school, which is about 7 km from his home. TAKARAZUKA, Japan - Belshazzar (C), ridden by Christophe Lemaire, gallops to victory in the Japan Cup Dirt at Hanshin Racecourse in Hyogo Prefecture on Dec. 1, 2013. Former turf runner and third choice Belshazzar won the last running of the Japan Cup Dirt for his first Grade 1 victory. Wonder Acute (R) and Hokko Tarumae (L) finished second and third respectively.
