TOKYO, Japan - Members of the Osaka-based Sea Turtle Association of Japan warned on Dec. 29 that a serious tumor-causing illness, called fibropapillomas, is apparently spreading among the turtles, with three cases found in Okinawa, Shizuoka and Kochi prefectures since last summer. OSAKA, Japan - Photo taken in San Diego, California, in October 2000 shows three scientists carrying a loggerhead turtle to be released into the Pacific Ocean. Researchers said three turtles released off the coast of San Diego have found their home to Japan where they were originally hatched. One of them -- a male loggerhead nicknamed ''Bubba'' -- has already reached the open sea off eastern Honshu, according to researchers from the San Diego-based Hubbs-SeaWorld Institute.
