Yokohama Chinatown Begins Drive-Thru Sales

Yokohama Chinatown Begins Drive-Thru Sales

On April 13, 18 restaurants in Yokohama's Chinatown (Naka Ward, Yokohama City) began offering a drive-through service, as the number of visitors to the area has declined due to the spread of the new coronavirus. As people continued to eat at home, regular customers rushed to the restaurants to get a taste of professional food. The event was planned by the Yokohama Chinatown Development Association Cooperative. Customers place orders by phone at participating restaurants listed on the cooperative's website and pick up their items at the Chinatown Parking Lot on the east side of Chinatown (photo)."In order to reduce contact between people as much as possible, we have called on participating shops to use electronic payments," said Rika Takemoto, managing director of the company.
