The day, usually celebrated every year on April 14, is marked by grand festivities. Currently, artists from Dhaka University's Faculty of Fine Arts are dedicating their time to crafting paper masks and large bamboo symbolic animal figures. They will be used at the main colorful new year procession called the Mangal Shobhajatra (March of Good Tidings).
