OSAKA, Japan - People admire the ''sakura'' cherry blossoms along a path at the Japan Mint in Osaka on April 14, 2010, the first day of the annual ''sakura no torinuke'' (Cherry Blossom Viewing) event. A total of 354 trees stand along the 560-meter-long path.

The Osaka Mint

This mint was built after the Meiji Restoration as an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Finance with the objective of currency reform. Initially, it was called the Zoheiryo .
