SAPPORO, Japan - Toshiaki Endo (C), head of the Hokkaido branch of Snow Brand Milk Products Co., apologizes at a press conference Aug. 23 for his company's poor control of bacteria. The Hokkaido prefectural government ordered the company to suspend operations at its plant in Taiki after discovering a bacterial toxin in samples of powdered skimmed milk produced at the plant.
