US: Heavy Snow Squall Drops Visibility in Chicago, Winter Weather Alerts in Effect 2

Snow squall warnings were issued Wednesday morning, January 14 across parts of the Chicago area, bringing brief but intense snowfall, whiteout conditions, and strong winds that created hazardous travel conditions. The fast-moving squalls led to slick roads, reduced visibility, and flight disruptions at O’Hare Airport, where departures were temporarily grounded and delays averaged nearly an hour. Some areas reported up to two inches of snow in under two hours, while lake-effect snow is expected to continue affecting parts of Chicago, northwest Indiana, and southwest Michigan through Thursday

Free Education Empowers Rural Girls In Huaping - China

Behind that voice stands Zhang Guimei, the school's founder and principal. In her sixties and struggling with illness, she still devotes more than 18 hours a day to her students. Megaphone in hand, she has become a living symbol of how education can open doors that poverty once closed. Founded in 2008, Huaping High School for Girls is the country's first senior high school to offer free education for girls. China: Massive Fire Engulfs Biotechnology Factory in Hebei

A major fire broke out at a biotechnology company in northern China, sending towering flames and thick smoke around a high-rise factory building. The fire erupted on December 11, 2025, at Guoxu Biotechnology Company in Fuping County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. The video shows the multi-story industrial building fully engulfed in flames, with heavy black smoke billowing into the sky.
