The 8.4-meter-long boat, capable of accommodating up to 25 persons and toilet facilities as well as a week's supply of water and food, can withstand the impact from hitting a concrete structure while moving at a maximum speed of 36 kilometers per hour.

The green train, which debuted the same day, is the first new model deployed by the service's operator, East Japan Railway Co., since December 1997.
