On February 3, 2026, in Anhui, eastern China, an elderly man was preparing to leave for work in a small electric vehicle when it suddenly began moving on its own after he got out. He chased after it but tripped and fell before bystanders helped him up. The man eventually regained control of the vehicle.

China: Malfunctioning Electric Car Spins Repeatedly in Traffic

A malfunctioning small electric vehicle spun uncontrollably in the middle of a public road in China, creating a dangerous situation for nearby drivers. The incident occurred on December 5, 2023, in Jiangsu Province. The video shows a low-speed electric car, commonly used by elderly drivers in China, suddenly losing control and repeatedly spinning in tight circles around another vehicle in the center of the roadway. Other vehicles were forced to slow down and keep their distance as the driver appeared unable to regain control. After spinning several times, the car struck the other vehicle and eventually came to a stop. No injuries were reported.

On September 1, 2025, in Liaoning, China, a video filmed from inside a car shows the vehicle losing control after another driver abruptly cut in front of it. The sudden maneuver caused the driver to swerve, sending the car into a full 360-degree spin before skidding across the center line toward the oncoming lane. The spinning vehicle startled two small trucks approaching from the opposite direction, forcing both drivers to brake sharply. In the footage, the trucks appear frozen in place as the car spins to a halt just meters away.
