The mortal remains of Princess Irene of Greece are being laid to rest in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St Andrew and St Demetrius on 17 January 2026 in Madrid (Spain). After being veiled in the privacy of the Zarzuela, the public farewell ceremonies for Princess Irene of Greece, who died on Thursday 15 January at the age of 83, have begun in Madrid. The coffin covered with the Greek flag and the coat of arms of the Hellenic royal family will be open to the public in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral until six o'clock in the evening.
