Dairy cattle rest comfortably on May 17 , 2015, in this cowshed in Otawara, Tochigi Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, built with about 140 ventilating fans to prevent the bovines from succumbing to the summer heat, which often leads to problems such as decreased milk supply, unsuccessful mating and lower resistance to diseases.
