US: Level 2 Evacuations Issued As Upper Cemetery Fire Sparks In Spokane

The Upper Cemetery Fire, previously called the Hills Fire, sparked near Greenwood Memorial Terrace in the Spokane Palisades Park area on Friday, July 26. The fire burned 90 acres, threatening more than 500 structures within hours, and level 2 evacuations were in place.

Subashiri

Distant view of Mt. Fuji from Subashiri in Oyama-machi. The town of Subashiri flourished as the entranceway to Mt. Fuji. It was also on the route over Kagozaka Pass on the Koshu Highway from Gotenba to Yamanashi. Houses and tombstones are visible along the road, as well as a fire bell on the left. A water mill in Mishima and Mt. Fuji

Mt. Fuji viewed from Fuji Yoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture, facing south (?). The location cannot be Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture as written at the bottom of the photograph because neither Mt. Hoei nor Mt. Ashitaka are visible. The families living here used watermills to harness the plentiful spring water in the area. Mt. Fuji viewed from Yoshihara Shinmachi, Fuji City (Yoshihara Post Town on the Tokaido Highway), facing north. The presence of Mt. Hoei to the right of Mt. Fuji indicates that this photograph was taken from Suruga Bay River, but the exact location cannot be determined. The village seems near Iwamotoyama, Fuji-kawa(river), Tokaido. It looked up from southwest, and see the upheaval of Hoeizan at right side of Mt. Fuji. It is near Fujikawa SA of Tomei Express Way in today.
