Storm Kathleen brought strong winds to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of western England on Saturday, April 6. Videos posted on social media show big waves hitting the coasts across the regions.

Kashiwabara is located on the left bank of the mouth of the Katsumata River, which pours into Suruga Bay. Small houses of merchants and craftsmen line the Tanuma Kaido running in the centre, and it was a very busy city with the development of Kawasaki Minato. Mt. Fuji seen from Kashiwabara

Kashiwabara is located to the left of the mouth of the Katsumata River which pours into Suruga Bay. This may be the low wet lands near the river mouth. A sail boat is visible with Mt. Fuji in the distance. Teahouses for travelers to relax were seen frequently along the main roads. Initially, meals and lodging were not allowed here, but gradually specialties such as chikara mochi (rice cakes) were served as well as sake and snacks. Some shops had waitresses to serve the guests. Mt. Fuji seen from the Otome Pass
