China: Wild Siberian Tiger Roams Residential Area in Jilin

On January 13, 2026, a wild Siberian tiger was captured on video outside a villager’s home in Hunchun, Jilin, after reportedly roaming the residential area for several nights. The tiger killed two deer during this period, an incident that was reported to authorities to prevent potential human encounters. Multiple departments, including wildlife protection agencies and forestry police, became involved shortly after the report.
