China: Chimpanzee Trims Its Own Nails at Chongqing Wildlife Park

A chimpanzee at Chongqing Wildlife Park was filmed carefully trimming its own nails with a nail clipper on March 6, holding the tool in its right hand and focusing on its left little finger. The chimpanzee’s movements and facial expression looked very similar to those of a human. It appeared calm and focused while handling the nail clipper.

Canada: Another Grey Whale Spotted in Vancouver’s English Bay, Drawing Large Crowds

A whale was spotted in English Bay, Vancouver, on Thursday, drawing large crowds to the shoreline. It remains unclear whether the animal is the same grey whale that made headlines earlier this week after colliding with a jet ski near Stanley Park. That whale was last seen Tuesday, swimming out to sea and reported to be unharmed.

Hong Kong: Massive Whale Carcass Washes Ashore at Sai Kung East Country Park

On January 29, 2026, in Ham Tin Bay, Sai Kung East Country Park, Hong Kong, a video captured a huge whale carcass measuring more than 10 meters long lying on the sandy shore after being carried in by waves. The footage showed the remains already in an advanced state of decomposition, with a strong odor spreading across the area.

China: One White Tiger Charms Visitors While Another Growls in Disapproval

On April 3, 2026, at Beijing Wildlife Park, a white tiger made a gentle expression toward visitors through a glass enclosure as a guide explained. A second tiger nearby let out a low growl in apparent disapproval, causing the friendlier tiger to immediately turn away and leave.

Japan: Nara’s Wild Deer Spotted Eating Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

Cherry blossoms in Nara Prefecture are in full bloom, and deer were seen enjoying the blossoms on Sunday, April 5. In Nara Park, where over 1,000 wild sika deer considered sacred in Shinto tradition freely roam, deer are frequently spotted in spring eating fallen cherry blossom petals from the ground as well as flowers blooming directly on the branches. According to the filmer, deer standing on their hind legs to feed is a rare sight even in Nara Park.

China: Panda Rolls and Tumbles Playfully at Zhejiang Zoo

On October 4, 2025, in Ningbo, located in eastern China’s Zhejiang province, a delightful video was filmed at the city’s wildlife park showing a chubby giant panda in action. The panda ran around the enclosure, repeatedly tumbling and rolling across the ground before climbing up to paw at the glass wall curiously. Visitors nearby laughed as the panda pressed its round face against the glass, appearing to interact with them. Its clumsy but endearing movements reminded many Chinese viewers of scenes from the movie Kung Fu Panda.

China: Black Swan Chases Golden Retriever Out of Park Lake

On November 15, 2019, in Hainan, located in southern China, a video recorded an incident at a park lake. A golden retriever entered the water and began swimming. A black swan noticed the dog and swam toward it aggressively. The swan used its wings to strike the dog repeatedly. The dog was unable to resist and quickly swam back to shore to escape. The confrontation ended once the dog left the water.

China: Over 100 Monkeys Race Down Mountain in Dramatic Scene in Guizhou

A group of tourist in Qianlingshan Park encountered a dramatic scene on November 23, 2025, as more than a hundred macaques raced downhill in tightly packed clusters. The monkeys leapt across rocks and narrow paths, startling tourists. Park staff said the mountain hosts over 1,000 macaques in several groups, which sometimes move en masse after internal disputes or reorganizing.
