Croatia: Lightning Strike Ignites Fire Near Homes on Čiovo Island

An open-air fire broke out in the Žedno area on the Croatian island of Čiovo on Tuesday afternoon, June 30, after a lightning strike, with strong winds hampering firefighting efforts as the flames spread close to nearby houses. The fire was brought under control and the fire site was cleaned up overnight.
