Japan's largest submarine commis
Japan's Defense Agency commissions its biggest submarine,
the Oyashio, in ceremonies held March 16 at a wharf in the western
Japan port of Kobe after being delivered by its builder, Kawasaki
Heavy Industries Ltd. The submarine has a standard displacement of
2,750 tons, and measures 81 meters long and 9 meters wide.
