Democrats poll majority, but rem
Hong Kong's democrats grabbed the majority of popular vote in
the first election, May 24, under Chinese rule. Martin Lee (C),
leader of the Democratic Party, shouted in triumph May 25.
Pro-democracy candidates were the top vote-getters in all five
geographic constituencies, which voted for one-third of the
legislature's 60 seats.
