Protest ships from H.K., Taiwan
A ship (2nd from L) from Hong Kong and five other ships from
Hong Kong and Taiwan move closer to the disputed Senkaku Islands in
the East China Sea on June 24. The photo, taken from a Kyodo News
helicopter about 27 kilometers south-southwest of the islands, shows
four Japanese Maritime Safety Agency patrol boats surrounding the
Hong Kong vessel. The uninhabited islands are claimed by Japan,
Taiwan and China. They are known as the Diaoyu Islands in China and
as the Tiaoyutai Islands in Taiwan.
