South Korean President Kim Dae Jung (R in 1st car) reviews troops in Seoul on Oct. 1, the 50th Armed Forces Day. In a speech made at a ceremony commemorating the day, Kim said his government ''wants to unfold an era of peace, reconciliation and cooperation with North Korea on the basis of firm national security.''
