Osaka group celebrate for Olympic bid

A private group in Osaka, western Japan, supporting the city's bid to host the 2008 Summer Olympics celebrate Dec. 11 after the Japanese government formally backed Osaka's bid. The host city will be decided at an International Olympic Committee meeting in Moscow in 2001. Paris, Beijing, Seville, Toronto, Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur have also expressed a desire to host the Games. ==Kyodo
