Sprinter Ito wins MVP award at Asian Games

Japan's Koji Ito, who scored a sprint hat trick in Bangkok, raises a trophy at Bangkok's Rajamangala National Stadium on Dec. 20 as he was named the winner of the ''Most Valued Performance Award'' for the 13th Asian Games. The 28-year-old athlete won gold in the 100-meters, the 4x100 relay and the 200 final. Ito received 481 votes out of 1,510 ballots cast by members of the media covering the 15-day games to become the first recipient of the award, sponsored by Samsung Electronics, an official partner of the Bangkok games. ==Kyodo
