AKASHI, Japan - Akashi Kaikyo Bridge - the world longest suspension bridge (3,911-meter-long) over the Akashi strait connecting Kobe in Hyogo Prefectureand Awaji Island. Tha Akashi Kaikyo Bridge's two towers, which rise 297 meters above the water, also are said to be the tallest of thier kind in the world.
