Handmade hydropower generators working in Vietnam
This picture, taken on March 18, shows how a remote village
in Lai Chau Province in Vietnam gets electricity from handmade
hydropower generators set up in a river. The river's current flows
through the wooden box, rotating turbines to generate electricity
that can be used in homes for lighting.
