Japanese firms slow in drawing up Y2K contingency plans
Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi addresses a meeting April 9 of a
panel of experts that is tracking how the private and public sectors
are proceeding in tackling the year 2000 computer glitch. The panel
heard a report that Japanese companies are making progress in fixing
the Y2K bug but are slow in drawing up plans to deal with possible
disruptions of their computer systems.
