Diet members' group discusses plan for N. Korea visit
A nonpartisan group of Japanese Diet members planning to
visit North Korea holds its first preparatory discussion at the
parliamentarians' hall in Tokyo on April 20. Among the group members
were former Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama (2nd from R) of the
opposition Social Democratic Party and Masaaki Nakayama of the ruling
Liberal Democratic Party. The delegation led by Murayama is scheduled
to visit North Korea after the Golden Week holidays which end early
May.
