Japan selects Okinawa to host 2000 G-8 summit
Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiromu Nonaka announces on
April 29 that Okinawa will be the venue of the Group of Eight (G-8)
summit in July 2000, which Japan is hosting. The meetings of finance
and foreign ministers will be held in the cities of Fukuoka and
Miyazaki in Kyushu, the top cabinet spokesman said.
