Sony to sell quadruped entertainment robot

Sony Corp. will start selling in early July a four-legged entertainment robot, AIBO (ERS-110), that acts both in response to external stimuli and according to its own judgment. Measuring 274 x 156 x 266 millimeters and weighing 1.4 kilograms, AIBO can express various ''emotions,'' grow through learning and communicate with human beings. Sony to sell futuristic version of AIBO robot pet

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Marketing (Japan) Inc., the sales unit of Sony Corp., said Nov. 8 it will introduce on Nov. 23 a futuristic version of the AIBO dog-like robot pet - the AIBO Entertainment Robot ERS-220. The new AIBO model has 19 LEDs and multiple enhanced touch sensors from head to tail for better emotional expression. It will be priced at 180,000 yen.

Sony to launch orange, white AIBO robots in March

TOKYO, Japan - Sony Corp. said Feb. 26 it will offer orange and white lion cub AIBO ERS-210 robots for a limited time between March 1 and 20. The new spring-version AIBOs will have a suggested retail price of 150,000 yen. Sony will accept orders for them via the Internet at www.aibo.com and by phone. Orders will also be taken at AIBO shops in department stores and e-Sony Shops across Japan.
