Japan to help preserve Silk Road remains

A file photo shows the Longmen stone cave in Luoyang, one of remains along the ancient Silk Road in China and central Asia which are to be preserved with a $5 million donation from Japan to the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The donation is part of an agreement reached between Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi and Chinese President Jiang Zemin last November.
