Heritage site protection office opens in Nara

NARA, Japan - The U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) opened an office Aug. 23 in this ancient Japanese capital to assist in the preservation of cultural assets and world heritage sites in Asia with a ceremony in a Nara hotel.
