Heyns cracks record
SYDNEY, Australia - South African Penny Heyns (R) sets a world record in the women's 200-meter breaststroke, clocking 2:24.42 in the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships semifinals at Sydney International Aquatic Center on Aug. 26. Japan's Masami Tanaka (L) managed to reach the final in 2:28.47.
