Japan, U.S., S. Korea discuss N. Korea issue
AUCKLAND, New Zealand - The leaders of Japan, the United States and South Korea discuss an issue on North Korea's reported plan to test fire another missile in Auckland on Sept. 12. After their meeting U.S. President Bill Clinton (L), Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi (C) and South Korean President Kim Dae Jung (R) issued a statement signaling their readiness to promote dialogue with North Korea if Pyongyang takes specific steps for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
