Japanese airlines test for Y2K glitches

TOKYO, Japan - The photo shows a clock on the control panel of an airplane of All Nippon Airways (ANA). The plane ran a test flight from late Sept. 13 to early Sept. 14 to check that the computer system had been successfully reprogrammed to prevent Y2K-related computer glitches. The date was temporarily switched to ''Dec. 31, 1999.'' When it changed to ''Jan. 1, 2000,'' the airline checked to see that the cockpit control panel functioned properly. The photo was provided by ANA.
