Singer given suspended term for drug possession
TOKYO, Japan - Popular singer-songwriter Noriyuki Makihara, 30, walks into the Tokyo District Court on Dec. 8 to hear a ruling. The court sentenced him to 18 months in prison, suspended for three years, for possessing stimulant drugs at his Tokyo home. Makihara had earlier pleaded guilty to the charges.
