Church marks 5th anniversary of Kobe quake
KOBE, Japan - Parishioners at a Catholic church in Kobe pray silently with candles for the victims of the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake in the early morning of Jan. 17. The quake struck at 5:46 a.m. on Jan. 17, 1995, devastating the port city of Kobe and its vicinity and killing more than 6,000 people.
