Wiranto undecided whether to resign
JAKARTA, Indonesia - Former Indonesian Defense Forces commander Gen. Wiranto meets the press in Jakarta on Feb. 1 and said he is undecided whether to resign or not from his cabinet post after the Inquiry Commission of East Timor Human Rights Abuses on Jan. 31 recommended the government investigate at least 40 people, including Wiranto and five other generals, for their involvement in the East Timor violence. Wiranto, coordinating minister for politics and security affairs, also said he was unaware of news reports President Abdurrahman Wahid is planning to ask him to resign.
