Investigative task force for Glico-Morinaga case disbanded
OSAKA, Japan - An Osaka prefectural police officer Feb. 16 takes down a signboard outside the headquarters of the investigation task force for the unsolved ''Glico-Morinaga'' case, which involved extortion, attempted murder and the poisoning of confectionery dating back to 1984. Osaka and Kyoto prefectural police forces formally disbanded their task forces for the case the same day as they sent notification to public prosecutors of the expiration of the statute of limitations and investigative reports on the case.
