Ford mulls acquisition of S. Korean automaker

NEW YORK, United States - Henry Wallace, chief financial officer of Ford Motor Co., speaks at a discussion forum sponsored by the Japan Society in New York on March 23. He said Ford is taking ''a serious look'' at whether to acquire South Korea's embattled Daewoo Motor Co., a move that could make the No. 2 U.S. automaker the world's largest. ''There are clearly some strategic benefits (in a tie-up with Daewoo),'' Wallace told the forum.
