Female donor's organs to be transplanted to 7
OSAKA, Japan - A patient is brought to an operation room at Osaka University Hospital in western Japan on March 29 in Japan's first lung transplants from a brain-dead donor under the 1997 Organ Transplant Law. Organs extracted from a female patient confirmed legally brain-dead the previous day at a Tokyo hospital will be transplanted to seven patients, including the Osaka patient, at six medical institutions.
