Ogi elected to head new Conservative Party

TOKYO, Japan - Chikage Ogi (L) speaks at an inaugural meeting of the new ''Hoshuto'' (conservative party) after she was elected party leader April 3. The party was formed by former Home Affairs Minister Takeshi Noda (2nd from L) and 25 other lawmakers who bolted from the Liberal Party (LP).
