Tanaka rewrites day-old record
TOKYO, Japan - Masami Tanaka waives at the audience April 20 after trimming 0.11 second off the record she set in the semifinals the previous day to win the women's 100-meter breaststroke title at Japan's national swimming championships at Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center. Tanaka posted a time of 1 minute, 7.27 seconds to win her third straight and sixth overall championship with the world's second best-ever time.
