2 teens arrested over killing of 15-year-old boy in Okinawa

NAHA, Japan - Investigators search for evidence in the killing of a teenage boy at a cemetery in Naha in the afternoon of June 9. Police arrested two teenagers June 10 in connection with the beating death of the 15-year-old boy in the cemetery in the capital of Okinawa Prefecture. An unemployed 15-year-old boy and 17-year-old high school student, whose names are being withheld because they are minors, were arrested on suspicion of killing Hikaru Uechi after separately turning themselves in at the same police station.

Boy held over fatal stabbing of Shizuoka man

SHIMIZU, Japan - Photo shows an apartment in Shimizu, Shizuoka Prefecture where a 14-year-old boy allegedly stabbed to death a 57-year-old man. The second-year junior high school student was arrested after resident Kazuhiro Sugiyama was found dead near a second-floor passageway with an abdominal stab wound. A 54-year-old woman who lived with Sugiyama discovered his body and notified police.

Minor nabbed after bashing strollers in Tokyo's Shibuya

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows a street in Tokyo's busy Shibuya district, where a 17-year-old high school student allegedly bludgeoned strollers with a metal baseball bat on the evening of Dec. 16. The boy inflicted minor injuries on at least seven people. The boy, from Yokohama, allegedly conducted the attack at around 9:05 p.m. on a pavement outside an exit of Shibuya Station of East Japan Railway Co. Police said the minor appears to be mentally unstable and may not be able to assume criminal responsibility.

Boy suspect in attempted murder case sent to Okayama

OSAKA, Japan - A vehicle carrying a 17-year-old high school boy who is a suspect in an attempted murder case heads for Okayama Prefecture from Osaka airport on July 6. The boy, whose name is being withheld because he is a minor, was arrested in Akita Prefecture, northeastern Japan, earlier in the day on suspicion of attempted murder of and inflicting injuries on four high school baseball club members in Okayama. He is also suspected of beating his mother to death at their home on June 21.

Man who allegedly murdered to fake own death kills himself

The boy was sent to prosecutors in connection with the May 3 hijacking of an expressway bus that resulted in the death of a passenger and injuries to at least four others. The boy, whose identity is being withheld since he is a minor, had admitted to the charges but refused to give investigators a motive for the incident, according to police.
