Japanese electric car completes round-the-world trip
LOS ANGELES, United States - Masaharu Fujinaka (C), professor of Tokyo Denki University, and his students pose for pictures in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, on Oct. 10 after completing the final leg of their round-the-world journey in an electric car. Fujinaka's team left Japan on July 3 to begin the 18,000 kilometer journey through Russia, Europe and the United States. During the 100-day journey, Masahiro Furukawa, the 22-year-old driver, traveled about 70 kilometers per hour, averaging about 300 km per day.
