Japanese children offer 18.8 mil. yen to U.N.

NEW YORK, United States - Four children from Yokohama, a U.N.-designated ''Peace Messenger City,'' on Oct. 31 present the United Nations with 18.8 million yen raised as Yokohama students' contribution to global peace efforts. In their visit to the U.N. headquarters, the four handed over the money, which was raised by their fellow elementary and junior high school students over one year, to U.N. Deputy Secretary General Louise Frechette (2nd from L).
